Why is Israel such a big issue and why should Americans care about it right now? Why should be be sending billions to Israel when we have record deficits?
Should we hand out billions of American Tax payer's dollars to every country so they can pretend to be our ally?
Its amazing that candidates are being questioned about how much they support Israel.
I agree. America claims to be a Christian nation. God this and God that. Well, [MOD CUT:language] Jesus is from Bethlehem which is in Palestine, not Israel. Why protect Israel and not God's homeland?

I don't believe any of the nations in the ME have made a sincere effort towards establishing peace and stability in the region. They fight over land like a bunch of little kids, they probably wouldn't want it until somebody else does.
I believe our Middle Eastern policy should be very simple, tell every nation there they can either learn to live together, or they will die together. Mess with the US and you will be vaporized.
The same reason we're supposed to care about Taiwan. Personally, I think it's bad foreign policy. If Taiwan or Israel decide to engage in a war, we're going to get pulled in. Bad if Israel does it, devestating if Taiwan does!
I tire of the Israel support as well.
I am not anti-Semitic or anything, I just think we should stop ALL foreign aid until we can fix our own house.

i saw a documentary on this and thought it rather stupid that people are killing themselves over this. they need to settle their differences through dialog not with bullets.
Israeli's invest LOTS of money in this country. When I was living in New York, you couldn't find a business or building that wasn't owned by Jewish. They are a powerful force down on Wall street, are just powerful in this country and feed our greed, it's as simple as that!
We have to be a friend to Israel if we want to remain rich and powerful...

Because there are still a lot of people that believe that we will be rewarded by a deity if we give our undying support to Isreal and it's Jewish inhabitants.

New York has a large Jewish population so naturally many buildings and businesses etc are owned by Jews. But you realize there is a difference in an American that happens to be Jewish and an Israeli right?
But yes a country of around 7.2 million (20% of which are Muslim...) is what is keeping American rich and powerful. Us 300+ million Americans are too stupid to do anything....its a wonder we can even tie our shoe laces. Thank god for Velcro huh?
