i think this is a fair question to ask, especially in light of obama saying that we need to be giving more. he gave less than the average person to charity, at 1% before he started releasing his taxes, and then was up to 6% after releasing his tax returns. (that also includes the chunk that he gives to his famous church). further, does he have the right to take american taxpayer money to redistribute it to other countries, particularly his interest in sub-saharan africa?
I think the issue here is, should Obama be allowed to take EVEN MORE from the wealthy to give to the poor?
No. He shouldn't. It is their money and regardless of how they spend it, it is THEIRS to spend. They already pay the MAJORITY in taxes anyway. I'm sorry, but Robin Hood would make a terrible president and he's a theif (in theory... stealing from the rich to give to the poor). The idea of injust justice is rather ridiculous and shouldn't even be considered.
The people who become wealthy DESERVE their money, that is what makes America the land of Hope. That is why so many people come here, striving to rise on the "ladder". To ascend through the ranks to one day become higher up than what they once were. It is what distinguishes us from many other countries. It is why I choose to live here.
I believe as long as the constiuents of this government accept the only 2 parties in debates/ recogignized by the MSM, we will never get a real fix on the problem. It's not like the powers that be will let us hear all philosphies or ideas.
For those that voted yes, my address is 555 Shady Lane, Downtown USA. I'll be waiting for my check.
I was gonna send you a check, but since you didn't give me a real address, I guess I can't do that
