It's funny: I had the exact same thought when I saw that clip. "Oh snap! POTUS is quick on his feet!" Followed closely by "Seriously, who throws a SHOE!?"
I'm surprised that the Secret Service gave him enough time to throw both shoes. I thought for certain that guy was going to get destroyed immediately. Instead he just got the boring knee-to-the-neck-and-airway that you see any given night on COPS.

No , I was purely going by the way Bush reacted in the clip. It just looked strange. Take another look , and you will see what I mean....... I do not buy into conspiracy theories. They usually get legs when the masses just can't understand why something has happened, or , someone has an agenda.

Keep your pants on it was just a joke I heard, thought it was funny. The reality is this action is an embarrassment to our country and truly shows how many Iraqis feel about him. Prowar pundits can cheer on the reasons they believe in how we are safer by these actions of aggression. Imagine how we would feel if our Country was invaded by a stronger country that said they were here to help us and then let lawlessness and violence kill many of our fellow citizens. To keep in mind the mess that Bush made for them I am not surprised people want to throw shoes at him.
That said, No Head of State diplomatically engaging another country should be subjected to this and for that I am sorry for Bush. The shoethrower should be punished by incarceration but not death as it would only inflame already high tensions between us and the Muslim Population.
