There is a war on Christmas, perpetuated by liberal secularists.

This also turns out to be an incredibly stupid self-induced black eye by Lowes.
A black eye??? For a store that allows it's employees to say the HOLY WORDS "Merry Christmas" !!!!!!????

Yes, a black eye.
Right or wrong, this is bad publicity for Lowes. IF there is "more to the store" that comes out later, people will have long forgotten this flap. The damage will already have been done.

It's really bad publicity for the religious whackaloons who don't know when to stop.
I try to avoid them at all costs.

I'll shop at Lowe's any chance I get because they took a stand against religious bigots and religious hatred.

Even if I were xian, that is in serious bad taste.
And you know that the xians stole the holiday from pagans to begin with.

Duh.

Thank You. And I too plan on patronizing Lowes (again) today and am glad I have been for years

Regardless of the truth of the matter, the ones with an agenda have done their damage as witnessed by people like this

From the article it sounds to me like it was not a good relationship anyway. Maybe she was looking for a way to get fired so she could file unemployment. Anyway, a person's job is not the place to be flaunting religious dogma. I find it inappropriate. Had I been Lowe's however, I would have simply asked her to remove it. I think that if they fired her SOLELY because of this incident it was unjust. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that there was a lot more to her being fired than just the Xmas pin.
