A black eye??? For a store that allows it's employees to say the HOLY WORDS "Merry Christmas" !!!!!!????
Yes, a black eye.
Right or wrong, this is bad publicity for Lowes. IF there is "more to the store" that comes out later, people will have long forgotten this flap. The damage will already have been done.
Kristie Sutton, a former Lowe's Home Improvement store employee in Cocke County, Tenn., says she was fired for wearing a Christmas pin to work.
Lowe's Chain In Tennessee Accused Of Firing Woman Over Christmas Pin - kdka.com (http://kdka.com/watercooler/Lowes.Christmas.pin.2.894870.html - broken link)
From the article it sounds to me like it was not a good relationship anyway. Maybe she was looking for a way to get fired so she could file unemployment. Anyway, a person's job is not the place to be flaunting religious dogma. I find it inappropriate. Had I been Lowe's however, I would have simply asked her to remove it. I think that if they fired her SOLELY because of this incident it was unjust. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that there was a lot more to her being fired than just the Xmas pin.
