Hope you got a dictionary for Xmas!!!

First, that little problem with blasphemous and now X.

Don't even try to be so smug.

Your seething hatred of Christians is overwhelmingly obvious, and extremely off-putting.

And your excuse-making here is no different than me calling people n-----s, then saying it's okay because it's a term that has been used for years.

You're being intentionally derogatory and you know it.

At least three folks on here considers it derogatory. Xmas and Xians - what does the X substitute for? Christ, who is the center of Christianity. As a Christian, I find it offensive just as homosexuals find the term homo offensive.

There isn't enough info in the article to determine if the firing was justified or not.

employees are allowed to wish customers a merry christmas..

are they allowed to wear buttons that wish customers a merry christmas?

Is reminding people that 'jesus is the reason for the season' the same as wishing people a merry christmas?

is stating "it's called christmas for christ's sake" the same as a reminder that jesus is the reason for the season?

Don't need a dictionary to know what Christian-haters are trying to say. Nice try though...

And at least 3 do not.
You know exactly what the X stands for. You have been seeing the word Xmas for decades.
So, please don't play coy.

BINGO!

Finally - FINALLY - finally somebody gets it right!

And that is precisely why this whole thread is an exercise in futility.

Nice try.

But if you want to be believable, you REALLY need to stop being so openly hateful.

Personally ... I think it was in bad taste to wear the pin and if she was belligerant about removing it, then she could be fired for insubordination. I do think that some Christians do go overboard with the war on Christmas but we are SO sick and tired of people mocking our beliefs and telling US what we CAN or CAN'T say in the public square (although Lowes can censor as it is a private entity). The 1st Amendment guarentees us freedom of religion NOT freedom FROM religion.
