I cannot believe that this thread has gone on for as long as it has.
Well, every time it seems like it's getting close to an end, something like this happens:
1. A new case is filed by a new nut-job attorney, and many people feel the need to comment on it.
2. Someone new posts talking about how Obama's records are "sealed", his step-grandmother confirmed he was born in Kenya, he used the nickname "Barry" and his step-father's last name as a young child in Indonesia, he has dual citizenship in the US and Britain, etc. This fires up some of us.
3. Someone new posts that why are we concerned about this, surely all this was resolved long before Obama even was the nominee, etc. This fires up some other people.
In a Seattle, Wash., college classroom, students were discussing the qualifications to be president of the United States. It was pretty simple -- the candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years age and fourteen years a resident within the United States.
However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was the requirement to be a natural born citizen.
In short, her opinion was that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.
The class was taking it in and letting her rant, but everyone's jaw hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating, "What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C Section?"

I for one am glad that this thread has gone on along as it has. I formed a small group with a few other like minded folks, two of whom monitor other sites with an equivalent number of nut-job posters. Taking our cue from a popular Christmas movie we each kick in $2 for every new post. Once a week we divide the money equally and mail it to the DEMOCRATIC Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Congressional Campaign Committe.
We're considering starting a "stupid comments PAC" with a requirement that each member send in $1.00 every time S. Palin, M. Bachman or M. Steele make an idiotic comment. As long as the market continues to perform most of us should be able to afford it, at least until the '10 election season gets cranked up!

Obvi, I am in one of these groups.

Reason # 5: Truegritt just loves seeing his name, in all capital letters, as the last poster on the forum page.
