Are you really being serious?

Yes of course the press expects Obama to provide news. Obama just expects a free pass for the next four years in regards to easy questioning, non prying and positive coverage which is exactly what he got while campaiging. Much of the media has admitted to this and an independent study was conducted which backs it. Wake up the dream is over. Obama will now be expected to provide facts and details substantiating his promises. We should only expect Obama to be as heavily scrutinized as George Bush was and still is. It's fair, and as I previously stated we as voters deserve it.

Maybe Obama was just extremely busy at the time. There is a lot to be done in order to clean up the mess left for him. This is day 5 or so. Wait, Obama will be communicating with the press and American people more than any president ever has.

Maybe some would prefer Obama to BS the media at press conferences as Bush's spokespeople did.

George Bush was not scrutinized by the media. I never heard him being asked one question regarding why he lied to the American people and the world about his reasons for going into Iraq. I never heard the media come close to bringing up the torture debate with Bush. What details did we ever get from Bush that were true or relevant? Did the press ever inquire why he hustled the Saudis out of the USA after 9/11? Did they ever ask him why he stopped pursuing Osama bin Laden? Did they ever ask why we were told that Iraqi oil would fund the war and in fact, it didn't? No, Bush was never scrutinized by the media.

Default hmmmmm...

It's becoming clear that many of you are rookies on the political scene.

What the press does is question policy. That's their job. They're supposed to make elected officials give a rational explanation for the decisions they make that effect us all.

So, to the uninitiated, the media questioning a conservative administration will appear "liberal" because there's a perception of an adverserial relationship. And media questions aimed at a liberal administration will seem to be "conservative."

The press is neither liberal nor conservative in its news reporting. In the editorial/comment sections, it will be. Some can't separate the two. Some feel that editorials are news, rather than opinion.

Perhaps scrutinized by the media was the wrong word (no, of course I don't really think so). The word "bashed" would have been much more appropriate. Those questions you've raised sound like personal question's which maybe you should ask Bush. Additionally, it's so over whelmingly obvious that you lean so far to the left that you risk toppling over, so I won't waste precious kilobytes getting into a debate with you as to what Bush was specifically asked or wasn't asked. However, I will say this. Obama had the easiest vetting by the media of any candidate during my lifetime and it's a damn shame. As President he shouldn't be cloistered from the media bashing but subjected to no less than what President Bush received.

When you stand be sure to do so close to a wall directly to your left so you don't fall down......
