But overall is the Hummer greener than a Prius? That huge battery pack leaves one hell of a footprint on the enviornment.

The Belmont Club: Which is Greener: the Prius or the Hummer?

And I did once own a 97 Wrangler with a Detroit locker, 4:10 gears and a BD 3.5" lift (33" BFG M/T)
Oh yea, if it ran on vegetable oil or was electric, it would have made sense to keep it.

Well, I don't know about the new Fords, but the old ones made up for that shortcoming by being cheap and easy to fix.

I don't know how many Fords I've seen fixed with Duct Tape. Old Ford pickups seem to be about the oldest vehicles I see on the road.

my '97 ford ranger has 206K miles on it and has required only a new water pump so far.
gets ~28 mpg on the highway.

my dad got 400K out of his 71 ford without so much as removing the valve covers.

And, the 200 cu in 6 bangers used to get pretty good mileage too. I like the new stangs, can't afford one though.

You know,I never could do much with a gas job Ford(had fantastic luck with powerjokes tho')......I can't get out of sight of the house with one without breaking down, but I have buddies who have all the luck in the world with them and wouldn't drive anything else and would get truly pissed off if you talk bad about them. This is mostly Chevy country around here for gas jobs,I can work on them and parts for them are falling out of the trees.

I have wondered how the Republican Party Plutocrats can fool the southern working poor to vote against their own economic interest. Republican economics have devastated the industrial and agricultural south. Why do these folks vote for the Republican thieves?
