I don't think this guy represents the average British transplant, but yeah I'd be tempted to sucker punch him between the eyes if he talked to me like that.
I don't really see much difference in his condescension on Americans as trash and that. I find it humourous that much of the sentiment here would be entirely in line with this gentleman's reasoning, only from the other side of the Atlantic.
I can honestly say that as a liberal, that guy was offensive. But you know what? Your thread title is misleading. For you to see this video & then to turn around & label a group of people just like he did? You are just as misguided & stupid as that guy is. I am a liberal, I live in the midwest. I would NEVER speak to someone like that guy did. And guess what? There are many MANY people who live on the coasts, republican and liberal, who talk that way about midwesterners....it's called assumptions. You're buying into it just as much as that guy who you loathe so much.
jerry springer stuff. no respect shown on either side. not like most brits or heartland people i have known.
what i would have liked to see (and what i have experienced) is that educated and uneducated people still have a lot in common. england has a proud military tradition just like our heartland people.
