Yes! Now that's taking a real stand, isn't it.

Bush was the flag bearer for stooopid people everywhere.

It seems though, that most lived in the United States.

First ask yourself what is America and I think everyone will tell you something different.
We have many view points and I worry the ones that spread the idea that government is the solution if you support Bush or now Obama its all BAD NEWS!!!
That is not the America for me and not the ideas this country was intended to be.
The idea of America is liberty, not dependancy, not welfare, not printing money, not corporate bailouts, not open borders, not central government economic planning and definity not sprending demcracy thru the out the world.

I don't get why Republicans keep sneering at the $13 a week tax cut. That's $676 a year and if you multiply that times how many people will get that tax cut, it really adds up.

I agree with NCN above when she said it doesn't help to make a scapegoat out of any president. We've got major problems going on and we don't have time to waste on looking back.

But answer the original question: Yes, it still feels like America to me. I haven't been living in a bubble for last few decades. Congress and the House have been getting meaner spirited every year, not working together---just like society as a whole. Bipartisanship is what is killing us.

I think statements like this and the one I pulled out above PROVE that some people (in this case Obama followers) do NOT pay attention to anything other liberal headlines and talking points.

Ignorance... this is the way in which America has changed... rather than feel shame and try to hide their ignorance, so many FLAUNT it.
Well prove otherwise!

Prove the following wrong:

""the Welfare check for Welfare Queens on Wall St. went through like lightning during the Repub administration....""

Why is the economic mess the problem of Democrats?

Where do spending bills originate?

They originate from Congress. Since 2006 who's been in charge of Congress?
The Democrats have had a majority. Who demanded people who couldn't afford a mortgage be allowed mortgages because it wasn't social justice? (Thus causing the mortgage meltdown.) The Democrats.

You would think while Bush was busy fighting the terrorists, that the Democratic Congress would try to make the economy run well - but they didn't because they wanted to bring down a war-time president and get an illegal alien elected to the White House. Now their mess has spiraled out of control.

It's Obama who's wasting your money on stupid things like $700,000 for a polar bear exhibit in Rhode Island and $5 billion for his ACORN political group. How is that going to create millions of $50k a year jobs?

Though many turning points can be found in America's recent history, the biggest change in America occurred when national socialism was enacted in 1935.
SOCIALISM - A political and economic theory advocating collective ownership of the means of production and control of distribution. It is based upon the belief that all, while contributing to the good of the community, are equally entitled to the care and protection which the community can provide.
--- Webster's dictionary
What's wrong with socialism?

It's collective ownership.

What's wrong with collective ownership?

It's qualified ownership.
"OWNERSHIP - ... Ownership of property is either absolute or qualified. The ownership of property is absolute when a single person has the absolute dominion over it... The ownership is qualified when it is shared with one or more persons, when the time of enjoyment is deferred or limited, or when the use is restricted. " - - -Black's Law dictionary, sixth ed., p. 1106
What's wrong with qualified ownership?

It abolishes absolute ownership by individuals - aka private property.
"PRIVATE PROPERTY - As protected from being taken for public uses, is such property as belongs absolutely to an individual, and of which he has the exclusive right of disposition. Property of a specific, fixed and tangible nature, capable of being in possession and transmitted to another, such as houses, lands, and chattels." - - - Black's Law dictionary, sixth ed., p.1217
From the Communist manifesto:
"In this sense, the theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property."

Amendment V, US Constitution 1789
... nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
COMMUNISM - the ownership of property, or means of production, distribution and supply, by the whole of a classless society, with wealth shared on the principle of 'to each according to his need', each yielding fully 'according to his ability'. Webster's Dictionary.
Both Socialism and Communism espouse collective ownership, and seek to abolish private ownership.

And since the U.S. Constitution explicitly protects private property, socialism and communism are anathema to American law.

To get around the law, national socialism, in 1935, was instituted by VOLUNTARY enrollment.

There is no law requiring one to enroll before working in America. Nor is there any law that punishes Americans who do not enroll.

Yet millions of Americans are misled to believe that they have to have THE NUMBER before they can legally work in their own country.

FOOLS.
Socialist SLAVES.
Ignorant serfs.
(expletive deleted!)

THAT is why America has changed so drastically. Government that was once instituted to secure one's private property rights, now preys upon them.

Remember, when government confiscates your property for failure to pay socialist taxes, it does not pay just compensation. That means the property is not really yours. It's part of the Collective.
