Why is socialized health care the only answer to the inefficiencies and problems with our health care system?
What is socialized health care? A system that assures that everyone will be able to have access to the services they need? What is wrong with that? What we have now is horrible. It benefits only the rich officers of insurance companies and for-profit companies.

What we need is less regulation of the health care industry so adequate competition can step in. How can costs go down when there are government-set barriers to entry at the state AND federal level? We have government to blame for the current state of health care and we want to give them more control?

No, it's a system that assures that we all have limited access to rationed health care. Do you really think that the "rich" will be waiting 10 weeks for an MRI? hahahahahahahahahah

Universal health care is the only real answer because it is the only way to insure everyone and slash the cost via economies of scale. It's also the only way around 1/3 of the American population could get care for something like cancer. If you have a disease like cancer and you don't have insurance then you probably can't get care unless you are independently wealthy. If you try to even go to an emergency room they'll only take you if you are about to die but without regular treatment (medication, chemo, radiation, etc) it is virtually impossible without not just insurance but an insurance which actually doesn't have a low cap like most cheap insurance plans have.

Of course they won't. But under the present system, an MRI is a fantasy for a lot of people. I would rather we have limited access (a supposition that is a lot of poppycock) rather than a few having some access and a lot having no access.
I read that some pedestrian got hit crossing the street. Appalling. I think the only solution is universal gov't hand holders to guide and coddle us across busy intersections. It's the only real answer due to economies of scale.

No, what's appalling is that the pedestrian had no health insurance and was billed tens of thousands of dollars for the ambulance, x-rays, hospital stay and doctors' services.
Nice try.
