Horrible, truly horrible for everyone involved. I imagine that having to perform the abortion weighed heavily on the drs --- but they did what was correct, a nine year old could not carry them to near to term anyways. Her life was at risk, and no nine year old should have to undergo pregnancy, much less the pregnancy that resulted in her rape.
The fact that the azzhole who raped her and her disabled fourteen year old sister is not going to be excommunicated shows badly on the archbishop. What a complete retarded thought process, imo.
Now --- this abuse had been going on for three years, and I have to ask.....where was the mother? How did she not know?
Just be thankful for the little girl that someone was thinking of her and not about a hierarchy. Is very difficult to eradicate the cult mentality, so is commendable. Is also difficult to go against one's culture and religion, for so many it is their extended family. Not sure why the term neocon would be used in a catholic country, the religion has been around since 300 ac.
The future of the U.S. if the extremist neo-con religious right ever get their way.
In cases where it's clearly needed to save a life like that is in my opinion the only time it should be allowed, and the decision shouldn't be taken lightly.
