Poll: Americans believe world leaders respect Obama

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- As Barack Obama takes off for his first overseas trip as president, a new national poll indicates that more than eight in 10 Americans think he will do a good job representing the United States to the world.

A poll indicates eight in 10 Americans think President Obama will represent the United States well to the world. And seven in 10 people questioned in the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey, released Tuesday, believe that leaders of other countries respect Obama.

Luckily, your view is considered extreme by most Americans. Obama's not going anywhere.

That's funny, because the world has been very critical of him lately, asking for all of them to follow his blueprint of spending money they don't have.

Well that just goes to show the stupidity and abject ignorance of the general population, does it not? After all, slightly over half the people voted for this clown.

However, I don't find this poll very believable, because if only 53% voted for OB, and this poll says that 8 in 10 think he will "represent the U.S. well" (your words), it would mean that there has been a huge increase in Obama support. I don't think you can make that case. In fact, the exact opposite is true, as his job approval numbers are falling, not rising.

If one peruses the news stories written on what world leaders think of the new "President", we find that he isn't doing too well. He dissed Gordon Brown right off the bat, and all of Great Britain when he returned the bust of Winston Churchill (which he had no right to do, as it was a gift to the American people) to the British embassy. He attempted to make a secret deal with Russia (behind the back of NATO and the rest of the world). Then he attempted to "make nice" to Iran with a silly video, and was basically laughed at. In so doing, he offended Israel so badly that they have said if he doesn't do everything possible to stop their (Iran's) nuclear weapons program, they may have to launch an attack on Iran themselves.

Even Hugo Chavez has called the "President" an ignoramus. This might be the only time I have ever agreed with Chavez.

Obama is scoring few points, if any at all. He is in trouble here as well, as fewer and fewer people are "buying" into his so called "economic recovery" program, which is a blueprint for U.S. insolvency and probable bankruptcy if this train wreck isn't stopped.

I agree. He is a bumbling moron. His lack of experience in managing anything is painfully obvious. Yet he, with no experience ever in his life of having to submit a budget, has the responsibility of submitting a budget plan for the United States! And all his willing and loyal subjects in Congress just nod their heads in approval.

Never mind what their constituents are saying.

We no longer have representation, it appears. We are all at the mercy of these boobs; idiots, who don't read most of the legislation they sign.
