the US federal government is the largest, most corrupt, and the greediest corporation in the entire world. that is FACT. glad you trust them.

Alas.. the reason you don't trust the government is BECAUSE the government HAS been corrupted by the same people YOU expect ME to trust.. .. Yes.. government has to break away from being "bought" and when we can accomplish that then the government can be very effective in fixing the problems.

Atleats with the government I feel that I have a voice.. if I don't like what is going on.. I can reflect that in my votes for or against a candidate. With private entities in healthcare I am completely voiceless and helpless..

But alas... this subject was touch upon quite early in the thread.. and I believe eloquently by Harborlady. You might want to go back and read through the thread.

Anyone could twist that for their agenda.

I don't think allowing massive amounts of third world people with a different language and culture than me year after year fits my right to 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' but the government still allows it to happen.

by provided, you mean that your kids are required to go or the state will come and take your children away. your world sounds scary. explain what UHC is. no one can ever explain that to me. does that mean they cured AIDS? because if we all get the same treatment, then magic johnson will have to wait behind the poor to get his AIDS treatments. yeah, that's gonna happen.

But it's no surprise that someone who is against a UHC is also against education provided to all

The cost of healthcare started going up right about the time medicaid came into existence. I posted a link in an earlier post in this thread.
Post #57 has the link to an article.

tHey are a symptom of the problem.. NOT the problem..

they were purchased by the rich corporations in this country and corrupted by that greed.

This country is run by it's major corporations and NOT the people..

BUT.. I feel that atleast, for the first time, I have a President who is atleast trying to break away from that...

which is why he's got the right wing so up in a tizzy.

WE THE PEOPLE need to take this country back from WE THE CORPORATIONS

too much regulation. they also let comanies write 17 year patents on prescriptions. then the doctors pimp name brand medications and don't want to give you generics.

If I have to explain what a UHC is than it's not worth debating with you.. because you obviously lack the neccesary information to have a debate.. because the ONLY thing you will put up on this thread is rhetoric and hyperbole.

Yes.. education is mandatory till a certain age.. that age is determined state to state.. and that is fine with me. And then that education that is mandated is provided for through taxes and government funding. .. also okay with me..

The national system of formal education in the United States developed in the 19th century. Jefferson was the first American leader to suggest creating a public school system. His ideas formed the basis of education systems developed in the 19th century
Our founding fathers saw the importance of a public education system, one that had access for ALL. And.. it is tantamount to child abuse to deprive a child of an education that will allow them to function in society and contribute.. they don't HAVE to go to public school.. they can get home schooled. As long as a child is getting an education wether at home in a home school curriculum or public or private school, they are meeting their legal obligation.
