Two of the 42,000 said they are leaving Donald Trump and Rush Limbaugh. My guess is they are not last 2. By the way New York's millionaires tax starts at $300,000 very Orwelian.
I'n guessing because 42k of them make THAT MUCH more money than the rest.
I am just a simpleton from Alabama, but if I make 40k a year, there is no way I can pay as much of the tax burden as somone who makes a million.
It's simple math.
I forgot the exact figures, but it is something like 4% control 80% of the wealth in America. Well, logically, that 4% should be paying 80% of the taxes.
... in a fair tax system.
Not saying New York is fair, by the way. I don't know New York's tax laws.

Yeah you don't get it you would have to make about $120,000 in NYC to have the same quality of life you have in Alabama. You have an extreme concentration of hyper successful driven people in NY. The tax burden has shifted to the wealthy unfortunately these people will leave forcing the tax burden to be shifted down repeating the cycle until the only people left are those that can't afford to leave. See NYC circa 1970.

Where your logic goes wrong is that this years income does not equate to wealth.
Wealth means that they have made or inherited money in the past, paid their taxes on it at that time, and did not spend it, it does not mean they made anything this year...
