Just curious - if you are angry with a particular aspect of American policy, do you still feel an underlying sense of... well... "communion"... with your fellow Americans? Do you feel that the American union of 50 states (and the five territories) is something to be preserved at great cost, or is it a "marriage of convenience?"

Perhaps. But there are numerous levels of "unity."

I believe that this country will divide within the next 50 years.

The internet has a exposed a level of hate I never realized existed in America. I thought our disagreements were petty. We're in trouble.

"Whenever something is wrong, something is too big." --- Leopold Kohr

Given the worsening cultural and political divide between the rest of the country and areas one might consider Redneckistan, I would just as soon make it sooner rather than later that we realize we would all be better off separate and functional than bickering and dysfunctional. The "united" part of the "United States" is a joke. Yes, Redneckistan, we want a divorce.

I think we have to get back to stronger state rights and a less powerful, overreaching federal government that has become a symbol of fiscal tyranny.
