Texas lost the case simply because they filed an appeal to the Supreme Court, proving that they considered themself part of the union or the Supreme Court would have no standing. This one is common sense..

2) Per the decision of the court
But the perpetuity and indissolubility of the Union by no means implies the loss of distinct and individual existence, or of the right of self government by the States. Under the Articles of Confederation each State retained its sovereignty, freedom and independence, and every power, jurisdiction and right not expressly delegated to the United States. Under the Constitution, though the powers of the States were much restricted, still, all powers not delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the States, are reserved to the States respectively to the people.

And we have already had occasion to remark at this term, that "the people of each State compose a State, having its own government, and endowed with all the functions essential to separate and independent existence,

The question is this, does each state still retain its own sovereignty, freedom, and independence? Who can honestly say that the US Government still delegates powers to the states except where reserved by the Constitution to the US Government?

Who can honestly argue that each state has their own government which functions seperate and independent?

To be clearer, it might be argued that the US Government has abused their powers thereby violating their own Constitution and giving states the authority to leave..

It seems that Texas left the union, and then filed an appeal with the Supreme Court over bonds.. Trying to figure out what brain thought that they could still file court case with the Supreme Court, a country they claimed they no longer belonged to..

Talking I wish Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, and Idaho would leave the union

They would make an excellent country on their own and I will be one of the first few people to move there.

M,W,M,S & I would go broke without Federal spending. All these states receive more money from the Feds than they send in taxes. Effectively all these conservative wonderlands are on welfare.

It should be a very ripe time in our nation's history for a state to leave the union, esp Texas. The central government is essentially broke. Sugar Daddy funds from China will immediately stop flowing on the hint of secession, and more than enough troops have loyalties to the citizens of Texas over those of Uncle Sam to defect (with some modern equipment). Texas has more than enough natural resources to trade with once the Federal government's reserves are exhausted and they are forced to terminate any occupation force. Then there's the logistical nightmare of trying to control and occupy such a large land mass. If there's a time to do it, now is the time. It won't come without much sacrifice, but most of the financial and physical bleeding will be concentrated in DC.

Molon Labe!
