The media has gone wild because Michelle Obama went to an event to feed poor people in some shoes that cost $540.
(1) Has any First Lady EVER been criticized for wearing something expensive
(2) Is Michelle Obama supposed to wear "Salvation Army" to go and feed the poor?
(3) Being the First Lady... I bet anything that she got those shoes for $0
(4) Those shoes look like s..., I thought it was a picture of one of the homeless people
(5) Who gives a flying f... about the price of what the First Family wears
(6) Palin got a similar treatment from the media? That was during the campaign, the Palins are not the First Family.
I would have to vote "none of the above". There's always flattering coverage of the First Family in the early months of any presidency. It's not about "loving" them. I can't assume to know how every reporter feels about the Obamas.
I think as long as people buy it, they will continue to sell it.
Why do people keep bringing up Palin's wardrobe when talking about these tennis shoes? No comparison. Michelle Obama is not an elected official (Sarah Palin is the Gov of Alaska) and she is not running for office (Sarah Palin ran for Vice President) Also, Sarah Palin's wardrobe was paid by donations to the RNC, right? Plus, as I've said many times, it was the Republicans who leaked it, the same people from McCain's camp who said she didn't know Africa was a continent. Is it because they are both women? Seriously, why not mention Laura Bush? Did you care about her clothes and how much she spent on shoes?

Very true. For some reason, people enjoy reading about their dogs, their dinnerware, etc.
I do agree with the comment about Chris Matthews, however. I watch MSNBC quite a bit, but he drools over Obama. At least we know where he stands!

"Thrill going up my leg." "My job is to help this president succeed." --Chris Matthews.
How much more do you need before you retch?
Chris Matthews doesn't claim to be unbiased. I'm not sure how you can complain when someone is up front about his preferences.
