I do believe they should be disqualified. What's the difference between breast implants for beauty and steroids for athletes for performance?

Not sure I agree with that. Men can be very harsh in their assessment of a woman's appearance. Having said that, I do agree that women can be equally harsh. I've never felt that way towards other women, probably because I don't compare myself to other women. Now that I'm "older," I feel especially protective towards women--especially, younger women. And I feel especially rankled when I hear older women be "jealous" of younger women. It's stupid. They need our support. It's their "time in the sun," and they need to feel that older women are a "safe harbor" and will be there to help them feel good about themselves, just as they are. Having said THAT, I would not want to see a younger woman get implants because she feels "less than." JMO.

Good point, although I'm in favor of legalizing steroids. Steroids are out there, the genie is out of the bottle, so they make as well make the best of them, and in the healthiest way possible.

I agree. I think of the insecurities I had about my appearance in my 20s. For gay guys, I think it's particularly hard - maybe it's close to what young women deal with. I can admire younger people for their energy and good looks, but I'm never jealous of them. I would hate to feel bitter like that.

Exactly. And I don't think it gets easier with age--for either women or gay men. I have a close friend who is gay--and is now 40--but has still not found his life partner, and is afraid he never will. The youth fetish in gay culture is hitting him hard--and while he's not bitter, he's sad. And it makes me sad to see him like that.

I shave my body hair, but it is because if I don't I am miserable. I have very thick hair all over and always HATED the way it felt and made me itch and feel nasty all the time. Started by shaving my chest, then I realized how much easier it is to deal with shaving than to be a hairy beast scratching, itching and stinking all of the time...

Try waxing. It's not that bad. Seriously.

Ironically, Biden and McCain worked hand in hand against the advice of the American Medical Association and the DEA to criminalize steroids. I doubt we'll ever see a reversal of it unfortunately. I used them for about a year and a half after educating myself extensively. I was able to rehab a lot of injuries and minimize a lot of my chronic pain issues relatively cheap, easy, and with very little side effects. But after getting married I did not want to put my wife at risk with legal ramifications due to their controlled substance status so I quit using them. Now I deal with muscle relaxers and pain pills, but use them very rarely because they do not help very much and I hate feeling doped up.

Its very sad to see the insane misinformation about steroids in the media and in politics.

I had a good waxer in Plano years ago and had it done frequently. Then she moved out of town and I tried 2 or 3 others than cause WAY more pain and always left about 5% of the hair somehow so I went back to shaving.
