She is a role model now, whether she was before or not. Want to know why? Because she took a stand for what she beleives in. She didn't back down. She wasn't going to be intimidated. I admire her.
I think Lucky was talking about Moakler, not Prejean. Here comes the shocker...wait for it....I actually agree w/Lucky about this one. I don't think Moakler could be viewed as a role model, did you see that reality show she was in w/Travis?? In the meantime, it seems like she's been trying to clean up her image, so I guess kudos for that, but we won't soon forget her hijinks w/Paris Hilton & the like.
It wasnt her answer during the pageant that outed her as a right wing fraud, it was her actions at her church, during radio interviews, the tearful speech she gave about her "freedom of speech" being infringed upon.

What do you mean it wasn't a photo shoot? What would you call it? There's a camera, a photographer, a location, & posing. Sounds like a photo shoot to me.

On subject of the OP, I am neither liberal or conservative. I am a a member of the "Just Me" political party. But I think she has the right to her opinions. America needs to stop being so afraid of expressing their own opinions about current issues. We do not have to agree with whatever is currently PC with the herd. We are still free to have our own views and should not fear reprisal for expressing them. This was not an elected official running for office, trying to win your votes by acting like they care about what you care about. This was a beauty contest. Her views not matching your views is no reason to remove her title. This was Miss California, not Miss Politically-Correct!
And as far as the topless pics are concerned, I have heard several stories. And if this was indeed a photo taken without consent at a photo shoot between pics, we should be hearing about the lawsuit soon enough.

A group of freedom loving Americans with some similar views and some conflicting views bound together by the unifying stance of freedom and equality. No need to be bound by the two party system and their guidelines. "Just Me" means you have your own views, and they don't fall under any one party's guidelines. Basically, we would be conserliberunitarian with a dash of salt and olive oil party.

Regardless of the right's assertion that this is a 'free speech' issue, it's not. She LIED when she signed her contract, she LIED when the pictures were released. She's just an outright LIAR.
I've said it over and over and over again, she is entitled to her opinion, she is entitled to state said opinion, she is entitled to pose nude/semi-nude or in a burka. The problem I and many others have is her LYING!! I understand that the right is ok with her lies because she professes to be a Christian who is against same sex marriage, look a how they idolize Wailin' Blamin' Palin', but, that does not make it ok.

Good for her. She has a platform, some people blindly support her because she has stated what they also believe. Fine. Doesn't change the fact that she's a liar. And, if stating the proveable fact that she's a liar garners more support for her from the right, it proves that the right will accept ANYONE into their fold who parrots their beliefs. Because of her LIES, there are many on the right, the left and in the middle who don't support her because she's a liar.
