I voted yes on accident but meant no. How about just 'American'? I had to laugh when watching a British documentary to referred to a black man from London as African American. Come on, really!?

By the way, do black citizens of England go by African Britians? I honestly don't know and am curious to know the answer.

For over ten years when ever someone has asked me who I think is the best looking African American actress; I've always answered Charlize Theron; born and raised in South Africa and emigrated to the states. She's the very definition of African American.

What about the Arabs in the North? The Whites in the South?
Why did you phrase your poll and thread title opposite of one another? That is very sneaky and deceptive. Shame on you.

I had two Caucasian American friends who were born in Africa but had duel citizenship. They were African American, though they were completely white.

What drives me nuts is calling people from the U.S., Americans. Aren't people from Canada and Mexico technically Americans, too?

Okay, I apologize. Actually, it can be changed, I think you have to go into the advanced edit link and change your poll title. You can do it.

And I thought the term African American sounded stupid.
