You're correct, it is actually blatant racism. But far too many honestly believe that racism can only be experienced by "African-Americans", and not by "European-Americans." I think a big part of the problem is that far too many people in this country identify themselves as hyphenated-Americans instead of just Americans. That practice is very polarizing and continues to reinforce the differences rather than the commonalities.
It's unfortunate that the D seem to have pitched any semblance of integrity or fairness, not to mention that dusty old Constitution, in favor of winning at all costs.
