Question is this:

Will Obama call up Pinyingyang and offer to have a refreshing cup of tea sometime?

Or will he step to the podium and respond to this with seriousness and a readiness to make Pinyingyang's living room a crater if needed?

NKorea threatens to attack US, SKorean warships - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090527/ap_on_re_as/as_koreas_nuclear - broken link)

SEOUL, South Korea – North Korea threatened military action Wednesday against U.S. and South Korean warships plying the waters near the Koreas' disputed maritime border, raising the specter of a naval clash just days after the regime's underground nuclear test.

In Washington, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned that Pyongyang faced unspecified consequences because of its "provocative and belligerent" acts.

Pyongyang, reacting angrily to Seoul's decision to join an international program to intercept ships suspected of aiding nuclear proliferation, called South Korea's decision tantamount to a declaration of war.

Your title is a bit misleading... You act like they are poised to launch a full scale attack. This is nothing more than NK just wants a little attention like a spoiled child... Nothing new here, they made threats for how many years now? The more we ignore the more they will do something for attention like a missile test or something to that effect.

Its impossible to know how ready they are for an attack, and it is highly doubtful they would attack us directly. They could, however, attack South Korea and then we will have 3 Iraq's going at the same time since Obama isn't ending the war in Iraq like he promised, plus he's upping the ante in Afghanistan. We have a pretty damn full plate now, and if an idiot like Pinyingyang is ever going to have the nerve to do anything, I am sure he realizes now is about as vulnerable as we are ever going to be in his lifetime.

NK is anything but a 'spoiled child'. It is a harsh, bloody despotic regime with an absolute hereditary leader that is rumored to be a sociopath. Oh, and they have access to nukes.
But yeah, other then that - what is there to worry about?

I agree... Obama, our Congress will definitely earn their keep, no argument here on that. North Korea does remind me of a spoiled child though. They are almost non existent than all of a sudden without provocation they shoot a missile across Japans Air Space. They did the same under the Bush Admin...

Meanwhile those missle tests are perfecting their capability. Are you supposing we continue to ignore those tests as they hone their skills? Then what? Who will we blame for being asleep at the wheel? At this point in time, it is Obama who is in charge at a time when NK defies the world with its newfound capability. Will you be ready to blame Obama when and if an attack happens in the future? Or will you be still pinning the blame on Bush?

Ping-pong is still trying to get his missles not to fall on his house. Reminds me of Benny Hill.
