A little common sense would be nice. Did the officer really believe that he would not be able to physically restrain a senior citizen if she got out of hand?

I think he did the right thing. All you have to do is listen to what the officer tells you! She deserved it, doesn't matter what age you are you need to listen to what a police officer tells you.

I'd take age into consideration when dealing with a possible physical confrontation. Does a 72 yr old lady pose a serious threat to a PO? Most certainly not.

Come on we need to realize that we have to do what a PO tells us. You just cant resist arrest, even if your old, a man, a woman, etc. You have to follow the law. She didn't need medical attention she was perfectly fine. Maybe this will show everyone to not mess around and listen to what you are told!

It was probably a bit much but she kind of had it coming too. If it was me though I would have just grabbed her and slapped the cuffs on.
