Anyone who listened to Daniel Hannan should know how conservative the conservatives are.

England shall rise again!

The key is not how far to the right they are but the fact that they are moving that way.

European "conservatives" are not a new party. Remember Thatcher? She was a conservative.

Thatcher was pro-deregulation of industry. My kind of conservative

If you want to call her liberal, more power to you.

You can call the EU conservatives "liberal" if you wish. As they deregulate, work on sounder money, and strengthen their economy, you can call them "liberal" all you want!

Heck, you can call RP liberal if he'll have your support

I am not sure about the Continent, but in Britain Conservatives support Universal heath care, signifigent gun control, and strong environmental laws also there is no "religious right" in Britain. For the most part they are more liberal then US Democrats

It's clear that none of that matters to some people. The see the word "conservative" and begin drooling with excitement, regardless of what they actually support.

Again, you are missing the fact that nationalization, even temporary nationalization regardless of premise, is not supported by most in the BNP. They're also staunchly anti-immigration.
