President Barack Obama, in an interview with CNBC’s John Harwood, acknowledged what he called "generally positive" coverage in the first six months of his administration, but took the opportunity to take a swing at FOX News.
Obama Slams FOX for Being 'Devoted to Attacking My Administration' - Jeffery Pijanowski - Open Salon (http://open.salon.com/blog/newscycle/2009/06/16/obama_slams_fox_for_being_devoted_to_attacking_my_ administration - broken link)
"You’d be hard pressed if you watched the entire day to find a positive story about me on that front,” Obama said.
Who says it is the media's job to prop up an administration with positive stories anyway? The news media's job is to be distrustful of power, to hold it's feet to the fire, analyze and offer scrutiny, not write glowing puff pieces or wax on about near orgasmic thrills running up their legs when the people in power speak.
President Reagan had all the TV news networks and most all of the large newspapers and magazines against him, and he was elected in two landslides, 0bama complains about one news network whose political opinion, commentators hold his feet to the fire, 0bama is a whinny little punk.
All cable news is junk, so I don't see what difference this makes.
I guess I just don't "get it", because these seems to be about as trivial as it gets.
Fox can report and say what it wishes and Obama has the right to respond however he likes, so whats the big deal really? I mean isn't there enough actual issues out there right now to worry about or do we need to create some for the sake of emotional reaction among the frothy?
Wow Dukester, you don't even bother come up with own titles to your posts... Like most Liberals, an original thought is very hard to come by in these posts.

Are you blind by chance? Do you know how many threads on this forum have the title of the article in the title of the thread? And by the who, who the hell cares?

Obama Slams FOX for Being 'Devoted to Attacking My Administration'
So, whats the problem?
Fox is entitled to slam whomever they wish and Obama is free
to comment on it. Whats the big deal?
It's not about slaming it's about reporting news...
I guess it's that infamous claim to fame that Fox says it it fair and balance. You know, kind of like that little thing called bi-partisan. Big difference in MSM versus Fox, big difference. MSM will give credit when credit due and be quick to take it away. Fox, not so much. So, to say that FOX is in anyway a credible news source is subjective.

I didn't listen to the interview and I can't watch videos, but from reading the transcript I don't see that he is complaining, just stating a fact. It is a fact that FOX doesn't like him.
FOX News isn't the only thing he's taking a swing at—the 1st amendment is the chief object of his concern. Perhaps a wise latina shall be able to feel empathy for him, and help bend the rules regarding that inconvenient freedom of the press.

By making the comment that he did regarding FOX how is this a slam towards the 1st Amendment? Obama made a comment so the 1st Amendment is not afforded to the POTUS... Now, if Obama were to push legislation to shut down FOX than you might have something there.

Really, is he looking to oppress the press? Paranoia!
