It seems so, if we can believe their rhetoric. If the UN sanctions cause one of their ships to be detained, and they launch a devastating attack on South Korea, the North Korean government will be pounded into the Stone Age.

They do not need a full blown working atomic bomb to cause a terrible nuclear attack. All they need are a couple of dirty nuclear bombs, which they are completely capable of producing.

Forget the Middle East. This is the hot spot. They seem Hell bent on provoking a confrontation.

The threat from NK isn't them exploding a bomb. That's not how they work. They just threaten until we give them more money and then they are quiet for a while.
The real threat from NK is them selling their nuclear capabilities to some of the middle east countries. They hope for the destruction of the US, but they don't want to get their hands dirty, let the Arabs do it..

this is the scariest situation in the world today. We have a crazy country that has no qualms about nuking Hawaii or any other place they can reach. Then if we retaliate they all retreat in their underground bunkers. I think many believe we would wipe them out... but we failed to do in in Vietnam... why think the result would be different... oh yea and there is that China connection... we can kill 100 of theirs to 1 of ours ...and we lose.

I agree with you. And North Korea is just a puppet of China.

it is turning into a mess.
The USS McCain was involved in an incident with a Chinese sub last Friday - near Subic Bay off the Philippines. The Chinese sub was shadowing the destroyer when it hit the underwater sonar array that the USS McCain was towing behind it.

so we are shadowing the north koreans, and the chinese are shadowing us. tough economic times bring world instability.

Yeah it is vicious little cycle that we are making worse. We give weapons and technology to Israel. Israel sells weapons to China. China sells weapons to Korea. Korea sells weapons to the middle east.

We need to break that chain.
