The question is simple enough.

because most people are bigots.

I love hearing the "republicans have racist policies" argument. how can a policy be racist?

Because conservative replublicans are seen as resistant to change, unable to adapt and that in turn creates the stereotype of being against race advancement.

From my personal experiences of being in highly "conservative" republican areas , it has held pretty true that people are much more race conscious...exhibit (A) Orange County California.

It is not about anti-white either, it is about the middle class. Iowa is "all" white and they vote democratic.

Ignorance pure and simple. Too many democrats never take the time to actually get to know republicans personally and they never really educate themselves regarding the rationale behind the republican party's positions. Many democrats blindly eat up whatever the mainstream media (which tends to lean democratic) feeds them without critical analysis. I used to be a democrat myself because I was always told that the republicans are "for the rich" yadda yadda yadda. When I actually took the time to analyze the positions of both parties, I realized that I identified more with the republican's position on the issues versus the democratic positions.

I think, as Republicans, many of us are guilty of that as well - it goes both ways. But you are very correct.

It just so happens that I know plenty of non-racist republicans. However, they are not exactly gun shy when it comes to saying something about a particular race "destroying the country"...which implies racism. I know they are for low-tax, low-government...but they just can't put a filter around the "hispanics and blacks are hurting our schools", "Indians and chinese are taking our jobs" type of statement.

some of it is based on statistics. statistics aren't racist. states with the lowest test scores are the states with the highest percentage of minorities. the states with the best schools, have a lower percentage of minorities. you may not like it, but it's fact.

Well it is always the 'republican' at the bar blurting out these kind of facts, you know that could seem sort of racist. Usually ends up in a fight too.

I don't hear Dems talking like that.

Anyways...
