Question: If she is so "potent" and such a "tremendous draw," how come she and McCain lost the election?
Answer: Because the only people who are "drawn" to her "potency" are people who, generally speaking, are short on grey matter.
"Smart, smart move"? She just killed her political career. She can't just walk away from her responsibilities to her constituents--the people of Alaska--and expect to be seriously taken as a candidate for POTUS. No way. There will always be the Palin mob, but that's where her "potency" ends.

So Obama QUIT being a Senator to run for President and that was ok?
Biden QUIT being a Senator to be VP and that is ok?
How dare Obama and Biden QUIT there jobs like they did.
Remember, Obama quit his jobs 3 years ago to run for President and of course his NO VOTES are of record all because he was running for an office he has shown no skills to do.
In the mean time, he was getting paid as a Senator and never in Illinois voting for his people like he should be.
At least she left the job and did not expect the pay like Obama and Biden did for 3 years.

I'm waiting for a "Breaking News" story from BFE,Alaska....pictures of black cars sliding to a halt with red lights flashing,men in raid suits dragging "Tadd" and Sarah from their cozy abode in cuffs.

The financial/economy taking a dive in Sept. Before that happened, they were ahead/close in the polls. No GOP candidate would have been able to overcome that - as it is, obama only won 53% of the vote.
I think if Palin was with someone other then McCain they could have beat Obama.
They forget she is still very popular today and can draw massive crowds.
Like Joe Biden just did, a town hall meeting where he made hire hands remove chairs from the room so it would not look so empty.
A scheduled town hall with Joe Biden was expecting 10,000 people and less then 100 showed up to hear the babbling fool and that was counting 20 secret service men also.
Yeah, she might still be going, winking her way to midnight, you betcha.

On a side note -- when a politician announces their intent to resign at the end of the week, it's historically a fairly accurate indicator that something pretty big is coming.
