I hope you come bail me out of jail when I rob a bank. I know I'm breaking the law, and I know the first choice is to arrest me and put me in jail, but that's highly unlikely. Let me starve? Sleep on the streets of downtown Austin? Charities can only do so much, you know.
That's a weak analogy. We're talking about whether or not the children of illegal immigrants should have access to public services. Legally, if they are born in the U.S., they are U.S. citizens, even if their parents are illegal immigrants.
Deep, deep down in your respective hearts, you all know the solution to California's deficit (and the money the US owes) is selling the state to the Chinese for their new vacation hot spot:
A much higher percentage (80%-90% I'd guess) probably thinks that illegal immigration should be illegal. And, last time I checked, it is - no matter how much the law making illegal aliens illegal is ignored.
How are they going to pay for health care? I'm assuming you're against businesses hiring illegal immigrants.
Here's a thought - how about they go home where they belong so they don't need health care in America at all, regardless of who pays for it.
I have no problem with providing health care to children of illegal aliens as long as they are citizens. Their parents, however, should not be provided health care and any children who are illegals themselves should also not be provided health care.

It frustrates me too. But the current law says that anyone born in the U.S. is a U.S. citizen. so I can't see how this ballot measure would stand, if it passes.

The article said that federal law requires hospital emergency rooms to treat everyone, regardless of citizenship status.

let's send those freeloading haters back to mexico.
Er.... They don't actually get to vote. You know that, right?

Bob Dornan would disagree with you.
