I don't think that those who are just along for the ride should have any attendants.

When I vote, I don't make it a habit to write in Laura, Michelle, or Nancy ... I didn't vote for these people ...

Our tax dollars should only be wasted on those we elect, and no others.

First Lady's are not usually considered to be someone "along for the ride" and have traditionally played a role in the administration. And First Families come with a cost and, yes, your tax dollars will pay for it. If you are just learning this I feel bad, because life is going to continue to irritate you.
