45% tax now on $1 million earners

All of this to now pay for Bama's health care plan. Your thoughts?

This part is no surprise:

"House Democrats scrambling for ways to pay for overhauling health care would raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans to levels not seen since the 1980s, breaking one of President Barack Obama's campaign pledges."

But, I found this part funny:
"Rep. Charles Rangel, chairman of tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, called the plan "the moral thing to do.""

Does he plan to start paying his taxes?

I don't vote in polls that use obviously biased language.

With that said, I will say that I'm comfortable with a tax hike on the wealthiest Americans. Everyone in America should be able to see a doctor when they are sick.

The sad thing is, Obama has been pushing so hard on this thing for political reasons.. He knows it's a bad idea given the shear cost of the whole thing, but he knows his popularity will go down if he can't come through on the astronomical promises he made while campaigning...

It hasn't happened yet. Call your congressmen and senators, especially the moderate to conservative ones.

I doubt anyone in here has a 7 figure salary. Quit whining already booho wahhh. Besides, people with a salary like that have dozens of tax write-offs that'll probably end up saving them half the tax dollars they'd give up under the Obama plan. Boo freaking hoo, I've never seen a group of people whine so much about something that doesn't effect them, in fact it'll probably help them. Cry me a river

oh ok, so you're telling them how they should spend their own money? Is that it?

Yes. Unless you're in favor of a 0% tax rate, you also believe in telling them how they should spend their own money.

do you earn $1 million a year and pay 45% of your income in taxes? If so I would fire your accountant because most wealthy people after they are done with their deductions & tax loopholes don't even come close to paying the top tax rate! Perhaps except for Lottery winners.

Remember Leona Hemsley who famously said only the little people pay taxes?!
