There are many, many people who have been responsible their entire lives and, through no fault of their own, have lost their jobs. Since, for most people, health insurance is tied to their jobs, these folks are no longer insured. Yes, they could COBRA their health insurance, but without a job, there is no money for the $1000+/mo premium (family coverage).

According to your post, you are OK with letting responsible American citizens go without health care. Well, I, and many other rational Americans, are not.

exactly............rep for you

You are correct and it's a shame that these Americans you speak of are put into that category, something does need to be done for that segment of our population.

However, that is still a small portion compared to the ones who don't buy it because they don't want to.

It is within the reach of many and they still have other priorities.

There is also another side to it. People who rather spend their money on other stuff...do we who are paying for it them self, have to pay for them as well...
I pay for my families health ins. which isn't through a employer....but I choose to pay for it instead I have to skip buying something else!

I can't quote the OP's post b/c I might throw up at the vitriol contained therein. However, I do agree with the above. Health care may not be a constitutional right, but I think it is a moral right to provide health care to all citizens.

"Slippery slope" arguments will get you nowhere. The two are not related.
