Having trouble finding health insurance? Just sign up for one of the plans available to federal employees and members of Congress. That would be possible under a proposal Rep. Lee Terry, R-Neb., plans to unveil today at Bellevue University.
Omaha.com - The Omaha World-Herald: Metro/Region - Terry offers health plan idea

Interesting idea.

THIS is what I thought Obama was proposing. I would love to have this option. I'm a sole proprietor in the most expensive state in the county to purchase individual health insurance due to community rating system (which also does help to keep some costs down for those with prexisting conditions).

I just went up another $300 a month. If I could buy into the volume discounted federal system, I'd be thrilled. This should have offered on day one of his Presidency. Its a no brainer until healthcare reform is done: no cost to taxpayers, just send a check every month for your health insurance.

I'd love to spend only 10% of my income for health insurance. I'm over 15% now and climbing.

The best way is to choose a plan that fits your own individual needs and wants.

Some of us choose plans with low premiums but high deductibles and we end up paying for whatever medical care our family uses because we don't end up meeting the deductible.

Others want to run to a doctor any time they cough or sneeze and they don't want to have to meet a deductible and so should pay higher premiums.

The currently uninsured must start contributing and ideally would have similar options.
