The Canadian single payer plan produces better results for less money. Let's just adopt a system we know works. They spend about five thousand a year in total. The us spends about 30% more.

CTV.ca | Health-care spending to reach $5,170 per person

I am sorry it seems there just isn't enough uninsured Americans to want to do this...unless this isn't about the uninsured people but about those who HAVE insurance and want others to pay for it???

A lot mentioned about the people who make > $50,000/year without health insurance. I would be interested in knowing how many of those had a private plan which cancelled them when they became ill. They then were "branded" with a "preexisting condition" making it impossible to get a policy with another company.

Exactly why we need nationalize health care. You've made my point for me.

That didn't answer the question in the quote.
How about answering that or mine.
How much do you think YOU are going to be paying per year on the proposed "Obama" plan ?
How much coverage do you think you will get for it

So you would like a Canadian system?

This did not answer the OP question.

Also, we are not, at this time, considering a single payer system

None of the legislation in the Congress does as you desire.

Therefore, we are talking about reality - what is happening today - not your future fantasies
