Here's the most astonishing quote from the article:

"That leaves a total of eight states that are competitive in terms of party identification, with none showing a party advantage of greater than two points. These include Mississippi (+1 Republican), North Dakota and Nebraska (even), and Kansas, Arizona, Texas, South Carolina, and Montana (all +2 Democratic)."

If Texas goes blue, Pubs can kiss the Whitehouse goodbye forever.

I love how our districting laws allow us to turn elections into decisions made by a few. Really makes you feel the "every vote counts" bs.

Political Party Affiliation: 30 States Blue, 4 Red in 2009 So Far
And that is a good thing? I'm old enough to have witnessed the dems full control for decades and they had to be booted out, had to happen because they where as corrupt as the GOP seems to be now. A one party system will always fail every single time. I would prefer a strong 3rd party to keep the other two honest.

I could go along with a viable third party without a fringe warmongering only support the people that think just like they do approach. I just think the republican party has shrunk into its own fringe with Newt, Rush and Cheney calling the shots. They saught to destroy Republican moderates like Powell and McCain while embracing incompetent quitting wingnuts like Palin.
