Yup, the same plan that BUSH implemented.

Nice change there.
yep. obama is also a corporatist.

more proof that obama is a corporatist (from the 15,000 housing credit legislation):

The most sweeping proposal, advanced by Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., would have eliminated all the spending and replaced it with a series of tax cuts. It was defeated 61-36.

Democrats also upheld a so-called Buy American provision that requires projects financed by the measure to be built with DOMESTICALLY PRODUCED iron and steel.

BUT WITH OBAMA VOICING CONCERN ABOUT THE PROVISION, the requirement was changed to specify that U.S. international trade agreements not to be violated.

This is the approach to healthcare. Obama is like the old bull. He knew he could not "run down there" and screw the drug companies, Wal*Mart and the insurance industry all at once. So he chose his battles wisely. He turned what would have been a united enemy into allies against the most evil of the 3- the big insurance companies. We will deal with the other 2 later.

Then again maybe Wal-mart, AARP, AMA and the drug companies have already made their deals with the Democrats. Maybe they will all take us to the cleaners and laugh about the stupid American voters who allowed their health care and paychecks to be hi-jacked by special interest to include the Democratic party.

I don't see why anyone should be surprised by this.

Such a furvor over this. The Dems have control of Congress and the WH so, to me, it's black and white that "a" bill will get produced and voted on.

LOL, liberals actually think this is a good thing. Now they can slash their research budgets and still charge whatever they like for the same drugs. Think DOD's $600 screwdrivers are a problem? Wait until the Democrats go on the drug industry's payroll the way they did for Fannie and Freddie.

Yes, big pharma already sealed their deal with Hatch and a few others.
They have a 12 year exclusive use of their drugs deal signed and sealed.

This healthcare bill is their cash cow.

This is the other reason the Dems just don't pass a health care bill. Not only don't they have balls, they, like the Republicans, are in bed with the insurance, pharmaceutical and medical industries. Rather than represent the people, they are representing their big contributors. There's a reason industry pays big money for lobbyists and political donations -- it works.

The insurance, pharmaceutical and medical industries are controlling the public discourse and the politicians' votes. Whatever bill results will benefit those industries far more than the consumers. If that weren't true, they wouldn't be contributing to getting the legislation passed. They, unlike many American's, don't vote against their own best economic interests.

So they all made their deal....GREAT...

I must have lost my invitation to come the deal making table, either that or I'm just a working tax paying stiff who is about to get hosed on the deal...

Go figure...
