Michelle, you are right, America is mean. The Obamanation is the meanest America I have ever known.
Does any of this seem to get up anyone's interest. These are the closing words of the linked article and they are pretty tame compared to what the lady says in the article.
At least you get to go to a Town Hall! When Bush and DeLAy were running things, did they have any Town Halls about whether we should go to war against a country (Iraq) that had never attacked us?? Where was that Town Hall??
Well, they're dead. Care to quote the Constitution as to a God-given right of free speech?
Does it matter? It is a guaranteed right. Why don't you go back to OT instead of engaging in a tangental diversion?
What about "America is mean" ? (I think it's becoming that for sure.)
Pelosi calls those who have differing views terrible names, even stretches the truth with her nazi signs accusations. Although, come to think of it, the liberal politicians are good at stretching the truth so it's par for the course.
They hire people to act as astroturf (using Pelosi's term again), seed the audiences with them, give them questions to ask that will be easy on Obama and won't require commitments - he can just generalize and gloss over - without ever giving the citizens the answers they seek.
Yes, they want to give us something that they themselves don't want, and they don't want us to understand what they are foisting upon us - preventing us, when they can, from attending the town halls, not holding town halls at all, and responding to planted questions and calling us unpatriotic for speaking up. I'd call that mean.
Yep, America is mean. There seems to be this huge dichotomy of philosophy in this country and yet . . . I do not think it really exists! I think it has been manufactured - and all the hate talk from Pelosi is not helping it.
Obama went on a tear about Limbaugh, yet Pelosi's statements are along the same line - demonizing the opposition.
It is rampant in BOTH parties - this blame-shifting and finger pointing.
The facts are . . . we do NOT have a huge division in this country as far as what folks WANT. I think we basically all want the same things!
It is how we reach the goals that is causing the uproar. And instead of working to find common ground . . . leaders are being divisive - and the public is responding!

What does OT mean?
The OP stated that freedom of speech is a God-given right. I pointed out that it's granted by law, not by God. Someone else said the FFs would beg to differ. I asked for a quote from the Constitution proving so. Still waiting for that.
"tangential diversion" -- If you're this easily diverted, God bless you. Didnt mean to confuse you, but you dont need to answer every post

Agreed completely!! There is NO debate, only anger and fear coming from both sides of the political spectrum and I for one am sick and tired of it. I'm tired of seeing angry people yell and make things up to get their point across instead of being well articulated and WAITING THEIR TURN in discussions like we were all supposed to be taught in kindergarten.
On one side we have 'Dems' calling the 'Repubs' Nazis, then we have the Repubs telling blatant and obvious lies about basically everything. It's all about twisting words and making crap up for both damn sides. I can guarantee that all those angry yelling townhall participants havn't even cracked the bill open, nor do most of them understand it. Hell, I don't even understand much of it, but I'm not going to just make stuff up instead!
Just yelling Socialist or Commie isn't helping, and I'm hoping that eventually people will figure this out.
I'm really hoping that intelligent, articulate debates will start happening, but from what I see... it might be a while.
Nah, that's not it. They're called those names because of how they exercise their God-give right to freedom of speech and what they say when they do it.
("God-given"? I thought it was the Constitution that gave that right in this country.)
Your mention of only the Constitution tells me too much about how close to complete atheist you are.
