He misquoted Obama's statement by presenting only the introductory sentence, then he ranted about what Obama is "really about", then he announced, "The health care bill is the beginning of reparations". The thing about the hospital and skin color is ironic because you could say that hypothetical doctor is working on him as a result of "reparations". And Glenn says "I dont care about the color of his skin!" Sure, because of "reparations" such as the Civil Rights Act.
But that's neither here nor there. The deliberate misinterpretation of Obama leads to the fallacious analogy of the health care bill representing reparations -- and the whole thing is presented to help the racists in the audience associate the House health care bill with giving free money to undeserving black people.
It was an illogical stretch, but the point was made.

Beck said that Obama said that reparations dont go far enough, TRUE, he did indeed say that..
Beck says the "Healthcare bill is reparations", IF schools put minorities ahead of whites... again TRUE.. ANYONE that puts color ahead of qualifications is indeed a racist, and I find it humorous that you try to call Beck one who very clearly says he could care less about the color of the skin.

Maybe because "liberals" arent glued to their television sets and radios waiting to be told the next thing to think. Right wing types have always been this way, from Father Coughlin's day on.
Your now telling me that only conservatives are allowed to listen to their radio while at work, only conservatives are allowed to have radios on at their homes, or are you trying to say that liberals are incapable of doing two things at once, like cutting their grass, or cooking, or driving their car, and listening to their radio?

What I find so ironic about this situation is that at least 95% of the population probably has no idea who Van Jones is. Couple that with the fact that most people have basically no attention span when it comes to news items, I highly doubt that this situation will hurt Obama at all. Van Jones was selected for this position because of his book on green jobs and his nonprofits devoted to the subject. I also highly doubt the he will suffer any long term consequences from this. People need to move onto the next "big" story, as I am sure they will. This one died before it even got started.
PS - I guess Rev Wright never said it either, right?
Until I actually see it on video, she didnt say it.. Had there not been a claim that there was a video of it, I might have believe this was said but they have claimed the video existed, and I still havent seen the video of it. If it existed, it would be everywhere..
