No.10 turns on Obama and Clinton for criticising decision to release Lockerbie bomber | Mail Online

Quote:
British officials claim Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton were kept informed at all stages of discussions concerning Megrahi’s return.

‘The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britain’s discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi,’ said the Whitehall aide.

‘We would never do anything about Lockerbie without discussing it with the US. It is disingenuous of them to act as though Megrahi’s return was out of the blue.
Truly shameful. There wasn't any doubt in my mind that the WH gave the go ahead to release this terrorist.

This administration is all about peace. Forgive and forget.
He's following through on his campaign policies.
He's trying to make peace with all the countries in the world.
You have to move forward and let the past go.

H*ll the guy is friends with a terrorist, all the terrorist producing countries love him and he bows to the king of a country where the 911 terrorists come from. Terrorist have a friend in the white house, make no mistake about it.

Let me know when you find an article that says the Brits were giving the US veto power over the deal. Then we'll talk. Knowing about it and having veto power are two very different things.

Well geez louise, I would expect that "hitting" back as the story suggest would have included such a confirmation, yet the linked to story's only assertion is that the U.S. was "kept informed."

Even more interesting:

"The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britain’s discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi,’ said the Whitehall aide."

I suppose that would include those discussion with British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw who left that position in 2007

last time I checked the United Kingdom was a soveriegn nation. They released this man under their own laws and conditions. Seems like they are trying to pass the buck but sanrene wants to make this about Obama instead.
Sanrene what's next? a Obama eats babies thread?

Except if not letting go of the past means going after the CIA interrogators.
