While I see thread after thread complaining about Obama's Health Care Reform costs .... I think we NEED a reminder of how much George W. Bush's Iraq War cost the U.S. Taxpayer.
Thank you for posting this, I am sick and tired of hearing how much money Obama is going to spend on HELPING HIS OWN PEOPLE, when Bush poured all this money down a rat hole in Iraq to finish up his Father's poor job in Iraq.
At least Obama is trying to help Americans whether they are smart enough to see that or not. Bush didn't give a rip, he wanted to get out there on the world stage and swagger about a bit and damn the American people.
Just tell Ben to fire up those printing presses. Not like that's what we've been doing for the past year.
Sooner or later we'll implode and then we'll all be living in cardboard boxes under the bridges and we'll have much simpler problems to worry about..like food.

Bush didn't do it by himself..he had a Democratic Congress that approved.
Remember there are checks and balances between the branches of government.

You're welcome.
Republicans are currently acting like they are now the supposed "experts" on the economy ... and they try to forget how much taxpayer money was needlessly wasted fighting an UNNECESSARY war of choice, which Republican pushed for, and supported all along the way .... regardless of it's ENORMOUS cost.
Health Care is one of the greatest financial burdens Americans face today.
Ask anyone who has a serious illness, and has lost coverage, and is facing personal bankruptcy.
Or ask anyone who pays for their own health care insurance.
Correcting the problems in our current system may cost a lot up front, but they will help reduce our costs in the long run.
The Iraq War, on the other hand, has done absolutely nothing for the American people.
Our costs for gas are still high, we now have tens of thousands more terrorists who hate America.
So we "supposedly" liberated the Iraqis. Why was that OUR JOB to do? Did the rest of the world support us? No!
What will prevent a new Saddam Hussein from taking the previous one's place?
Is America now responsible for overseeing the security of Iraq forever?
Well that's the argument that Obama keeps making: that health care reform is necessary for the health of the economy as a whole and that his proposals are revenue-neutral. The problem with that argument is that the bean counters at CBO flatly contradict his assertions. You're right, though, that the cost of health care is high and for some can be catastrophic. But I have zero confidence in the ability of government to make that situation better. Look, government meddling in the mortgage market precipitated a near meltdown of the world financial markets. People need to wake up and see that government is not the answer.

bingo! government intervention has helped to destabilize the world's banking economy and government intervention bailed out the bad wall street derivative gamblers. government intervention will give big benefits to big pharma, while every american is forced to subsidize the cost with mandatory health insurance for everyone! this is certainly not free health care and people who believe that are delusional in their thinking on this issue.
i suggest that a higher priority for our government is to work on getting jobs back up and running, because if people aren't working they aren't going to be able to pay for any health care program, government run or otherwise. once people are working and revenues are increasing then might be an appropriate time to address the health care issue. the one thing they could do right now is allow cross state competition within the insurance industry to drive down insurance costs immediately. it might help to have a database where people could compare insurance rates. (i know people should do it on their own, but they are evidently not doing it).
