National Day of Prayer is just to THANK GOD for OUR COUNTRY and if our President is a Christian he should have had no problem with it.
The national day of prayer was not invented by Bush, althought he chose to have them. Cinton did not have them, Bush Sr did not have them, Reagan did have them etc. They have had them on and off for centuries.

Did you know that Bush was sued for the forcing the National Day Of Prayer, and the law-suit carried over, and was amdeded to include to Obama admin, which is why they chose to not have the prayer day? Did any of the Obama haters know this little fact?

"Fasting and prayer are religious exercises; the enjoining them an act of discipline. Every religious society has a right to determine for itself the time for these exercises, and the objects proper for them, according to their own particular tenets; and right can never be safer than in their hands, where the Constitution has deposited it. ...civil powers alone have been given to the President of the United States and no authority to direct the religious exercises of his constituents. - Thomas Jefferson - January 23, 1808

Interesting info that I didn't know. Thanks for sharing that.

Hey Finn_Jarber, first rule of arguing with liberals who hate Christianity is you must never ask them to back up their hateful claims. It generally gets stupid after that.

Well... I don't even believe Jesus existed as a person, so the bible means nothing to me.

I for one hope that Obama is a closet Atheist, or even Agnostic. As a non-believer it felt good to finally be aknowledged during a presidential speech, unlike Bush Sr. who said Atheists shouldn't even be a part of this country....

Remember when you were young and people talked about Santa Clause giving you free gifts on Christmas. Same thing as most religions but worse...you are suckered into a cult-esque lifestyle.

The only reason they are not is because of religious bigots clinging to their ancient mouldering book of myths and lies. There are a lot more examplesModerator cut: don't get too personal please...
So what gives you the right to redefine the legal and religious institution of marriage that applies to others?

Do people who disagree with you not matter?

Last time I checked, Christianity in many parts of the Western Civilization is slowly declining....

You're missing your own point. Kosher food is Kosher because it conforms to a specific criteria for being Kosher. You can't simply redefine what is Kosher as a matter of convenience and force your definition of Kosher on those to whom Kosher is a way of life. If you wish to adhere to a set of dietary guidelines that differs from those that apply to Kosher foods, you are free to do so but you are not free to label what is a non-Kosher food a Kosher food. That would be fraud.

In their partisan rage, they fail to see what it really going on.

Some examples:

- China. There are over 70 million new Christians in china, and Christianity seems to be reshaping the whole country. Many churches have ran out of seating and people crowd in the hallways. I expect world's largest churches to be built in China in near future.

- United States. Have you noticed the flood of new Christian movies such as Fireproof and Gifted Hands being watched by millions of Americans?

- Africa. Christianity is by far the fastest growing religion in Africa. Twice as fast as a matter of fact.

- Asia. While the Muslim population is currently greater than Christian population, Christianity still grows at a higher rate than Islam. This is an amazing fact, since Muslim birth rates are much higher than Christian's, yet Christianity spreads faster. This is because the number of live converts is beats the high birth rate of Muslims.
And this would be good...why?
