While they whinge about other countries atomic energy plans, the israeli/zionist refuse to conform.

What have they to hide?

ISRAEL HAS rejected the call by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and open up its atomic sites to international inspection.

The nuclear watchdog, meeting yesterday in Vienna, adopted a resolution expressing concern about “Israeli nuclear capabilities” and called on agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei to work on the issue.

Haven't you heard? The apologists will happily tell you israel need not comply with anything, they're special, the events of 60+ years ago give them carte blanche to behave any way they choose.

I could not be sure that this type of news would be covered in America : thats why I posted the article.
I know that the media over there, only present one side of the story.

And given the level of disinformation provided by US media and their adherents, it's important that Americans are aware of their "ally's" refusal to disclose it's nuclear weapons., while whingeing about other countries like Iran for example.

Now if we could only improve the comprehension skills of the US zionists on this site.........................................

I wonder if they would be more embarrassed by how many nuclear weapons they have or how few? In any case they, as well as the five major countries in the original nuclear club, should open their arsenals to international inspection.

Well it seems pretty obvious why they continue a policy of purposeful ambiguity. If they acknowledge that they have nuclear weapons then the United States would be prevented by law from giving them foreign aid unless they sign the NPT. If they sign the NPT then they would have to allow inspectors in just as Iran does and considering Israel's Dimona nuclear plant in Negev is built on a French design back in 1961 and went online in 1962, it is likely worn out.

Mordechai Vanunu, who is responsible for letting the world know about Israel's nuclear program was later lured to Italy and kidnapped by the Mossad and placed on trial in Israel for espionage. After serving his sentence and 11 of those years in total isolation, he was released in 2004 with strict stipulations and not allowed to leave the country. He is currently still in prison for violations of his parole because of giving an interview to the press.

According to Haaretz "Vanunu's harassment by the Israel government is unprecedented and represents a distortion of every accepted legal norm.

Now if Israel is willing to go through this for one man, there is no chance in hell they will ever sign the NPT.

Should they? Yes. If they chose not to, then all foreign aid ought to be suspended.

But lets be clear --- quite unlike Achmidinenutjob, Israel actually is sane and can be trusted with nuclear capabilities (well, as much as anyone). See, they actually value life and aren't tempted to let the nukes fly in order to bring on some kind of rapture (as I fear Palin would if let anywhere near the 'button') or because they think by destroying an entire people they can earn themselves virgin slaves in paradise.

Would you honestly trust Iran with nuclear weopons? or Saudi Arabia? How about Palestine? What about Afghanistan/Pakistan/Syria/Libya? If you were honest you would admit that no - religious fundementalists ought not be allowed to have them or even think about having them. It is my experience that muslim fundementalists do not value life at all.

Israel is a fundamentalist country.

Indeed, some would say the USA is a fundamentalist country also.

But back on topic : why aren't the zionist/israeli's not willing to joint the NPT?
What have they got to hide?

And surely there is a double standard : they constantly whinge about Iran but yet they think that they're entitled to nuclear weapons and that they're
entitled to deny access to nuclear weapons monitors.
Inherent contradiction between their whingeing and they're refusal to comply.

I wouldn't agree with that at all. Yes, there are many in Israel who are fundamentalist Zionist and one look at the Likud Party reminds me of the extremist right wing in this country. However, there are many Jews who made Aliyah to Israel who did so out of religious reasons and not simply for the sake of Zionism. The fact that their government has swung back and forth between Labor and Likud, hard line and moderate for many years seems to be an indication of a diverse point of view among Jews in Israel.

The US is a secular country as is Israel as is most (if not all) European nations as is most (if not all) South American nations.
See, in the US we can be whatever religion we want without paying special fines or living in fear of being murdered. In the US our laws are not biblically based and women do not live in fear of being murdered by her family because she 'shamed' them. Women have freedom that Iranian women no longer have.
But I digress.
Yes, Israel has some whacked up fundementalist nutjobs --- but they do not control the government. They may be treated with kid gloves, but they are not the majority and they are not the power players.
Israel has a stable democratic government. You may like or dislike their current leader, but after his term is served a new prime minister can and will be elected without riots.
Kinda unlike what has happened in Iran recently, eh?

In short - Israel has its faults, but in a land of psychotics the sane(est) man is king. Israel is the sanest by far.
