Letterman has most certainly gotten into the political game by openly playing favorites to the left. He's trashed opposing politicians, skewered political commentators and in between has made some mean spirited and ugly attacks on anybody remotely associated with them. If he could be more non partisan and less of a complete a hole then maybe I'd be more inclined to feel a little pity for him. The "he's just a comedian" bit isn't working, its BS.
The guy is fair game. He's made a living making us laugh at other peoples expense, now its our turn to laugh at and ridicule him.
I'm sure he's devastated by your lack of pity...
Sure he's fair game...why not?
Fire away...but try to be honest about it and not make him something he's not....
Letterman got off scott free. In his mind, that is the way it should be. Poor behavior with no consequences- the liberal rant of the 1960s.
Do you simply NOT understand our justice system? Do you not understand that blackmail is against the law and that the producer has been charged with a crime at this point?
Please let me know what CRIMINAL law you think Letterman broke. If there was sexual harrassment, then that is a CIVIL MATTER.......money damages. You don't know yet whether or not there will be any civil lawsuits as a result of this incident.
Would you rather have had Letterman just pay off the blackmailer and support that crime? You see, the person blackmailing Letterman was COUNTING ON PEOPLE LIKE YOU to just BE YOURSELF in order for his blackmail scheme to work. He clearly counted on Letterman being terrified of PEOPLE LIKE YOU or he wouldn't have attempted such a stunt as to try to blackmail someone. Letterman, much to his credit, did not give in to the demands. Letterman broke no criminal laws. And, well he should not have given in to such blackmail either. Bravo for Letterman that he contacted the police immediately!!!

Ridicule him for what, having affairs? Go ahead. But, if you're going to ridicule him for that, make sure it's because of that specifically & not because you feel the need to "get back at him"...you know, like a child would reason.

How quickly we forget the nasty, nasty jokes about Bill and Hillary Clinton. All we needed was eight years of Bush and the arrival of Sarah Palin to make us forget.
The late night comedians tell jokes about the powerful and well known. They don't give a rat's ass about the politics. A joke is a joke.
Letterman's boss, Les Moonves had a relationship with a subordinate (whom he married) while married. I doubt CBS cares enough about the matter to make a big deal of it, other that the fact that his ratings are up. Leslie Moonves - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quote:
In 2000, despite being married, Moonves began dating CBS's The Early Show reporter Julie Chen.[10] On December 10, 2004 Moonves got a court to grant an early divorce[11][12] Tired of waiting, Moonves' motion cited a "desire to return to the status of being single". Moonves foresaw a lengthy trial to settle the property and other issues. He argued that "terminating the marital status will aid in promoting settlement of this matter," and the judge gave his request the stamp of approval --leaving the divorce's alimony, child support and property division details to be determined later – so he could remarry. Just thirteen days later in Mexico (on Moonves' 56th birthday, December 23, 2004) he married television and news personality Julie Chen.[10] Chen is 22 years younger.

Does that hold true for Rush, Beck, and Hannity? Are they just radio personalities griping about the powerful and well-known?
Well, well. David Letterman moves up to the big leagues. Guess he better issue an apology to the Gov. of South Carolina. He hammered away at him a few months ago.
I'm sure the apologists will say that it is perfectly fine for the boss to have a bedroom installed at work, so he can have sex with his employees and maybe even a few interns.
Letterman is a sick freak.
