The reason I said it's immature isn't a result of looking at this thread by itself, but the fact that it was started as a reaction to something that happened in another thread, and that the OP started "For ____ ONLY" threads all over the City-Data forums (most of which were closed soon after they were started).
It's fine to talk about topics ranging from shoe laces to politics, but I don't know that these threads were started with the best intentions.
I could blab on and on about how great New Jersey is, but (a) nobody in the US forum cares, and (b) I could just do that in the NJ forum. I don't get the point of these regional cheering fests. I think they're more inflammatory and divisive than interesting or helpful. But maybe my opinion is in the minority... idk.
