They bust underage drinking in certain states because there are many tickets to be given out and it would be somewhat profitable. they don't just enter into someone's house for a $500 ticket and to take their <5 pot plants unless it's a felony and/or they were selling pot.

You know how dangerous porch sitters are! It really is silly to be complaining that Frank didn't get arrested. Were the plants his? Was it his house? Did he tackle the arresting officer and try to free his friend? Did he grab a bud and light up in front of the officers? No.

So Sag, how far under Frank do you work? You sure do defend him an awful lot..

In most drug arrests, unless the actual perpertrator cops to it, everyone present gets arrested and the Court sorts it out. Which may be what happened in this instance, therefore no arrest.

I simply debunk some of the ridiculous garbage that the right-wing tries to put up. That they target Rep. Frank with their trash with such frequency is their/your problem to resolve...

I think it depends on the situation. Maybe it matters whether or not there were suspicions of Frank's friend selling the weed he was growing. If they were just busting a home grower whose plants were for personal use there would be no need to arrest anyone other than the home owner/owner of the pot. If the people at the house were fighting the arrest and getting in the way (all while denying the plants) I can see them taking everyone. Having seen the paperwork officers need to fill out for an arrest they don't like to do it for no good reason. I DO agree that the big drug busts arrest everyone and let it all shake out later. For personal use plants, which less then 5 plants certainly is, I doubt there would be a huge use of police force.

I find pot busts a HUGE waste of time and money for police officers. All the officers I used to work with feel the same way. The streets or the neighborhood in this particular story weren't made any safer from arresting this guy. It tied up valuable police time that could have been spent fighting REAL crime. I don't see a middle aged man smoking/growing weed in his own home, regardless of the legality of it, a priority for the PD.

It would not matter to me if he was a republican or democrat...not much of a story. Who really cares. I just don't think growing pot in your back yard is a big deal.
