This claim has been made on the "Fort Hood" thread and I am interested in exploring it.

Clarification: I am not looking for evidence such as "Bush obviously has terrible disdain for them because he sent them to die in a stupid war..." etc. etc.

Rather, I am looking for specific examples of disrespectful actions and words.

For example, he has clearly exhibited disdain for American religion (the horribly condescending clinging to "guns and religion" remark)

Please stick to providing facts and analysing them, not "rhetoric" (partisan name-calling on both sides).

Thank you!

I thought it was inexcusably insensitive for Obama to spend 2 minutes of his press appearance right after the Fort Hood atrocity speaking about other things before he got around to expressing his sympathy for the victims.

Me too. But is this a "first," or part of a larger pattern?

I couldn't think of any other "specifics", as you said you wanted.

Obama, with his elitist attitude, Is so far about the common man, he doesn't give a flying fig about anyone but himself.
He doesn't even talk to his generals in the was zone, he prefers to go through the chain of command, and let Robert Gibbs deliver his messages.
His only interest is passing the health bill, no matter how terrible it is, and no matter how many people disagree with his idiotic plan. He could care less how badly it sucks, as long as he gets his name in the History books. Just sign the check, he'll fill in the blanks later. Socialism abounds in Obama's WH...!
On a good note, he's a h3ll of a basketball player...!

How about Bush's disdain of sending our kids to a war based on lies and having over 4,000 of them die and over 30,000 seriously wounded as a result?

Talk about disdain!

You can't talk about Obama having disdain without asking who put these kids in harms way to begin with.

BTW, Obama is trying to get rid of the damage done by Bush breaking treaties with other countries.
You talk about Obama's disdain when he's trying to mend relationships that Bush destroyed.

Question on military protocol--is it considered objectively disrespectful for the CIC to "go through the chain of command?"
