Fighting for on foreign land? I think its B.S when i hear people saying the troops are fighting for our freedom, who's gonna come in the big ass US and take it away?

It reminds me of an older guy i worked with who says Russians are gonna come soon and parachute into america and start killing americans and setting up Military Points, everything he said sounded like Red Dawn with PaTRICK Swayze..

If anything we're fighting for control of natural resources and to do this we have to invaded and install goverments who are friendly to US which has happened over the years

You just figured this out?

Of course it's B.S. It has been since we first attacked foreigners on their own land, in 1846 (that's not counting the Indians, of course.)

Don't think that we are unbeatable. If the Russians and Chinese had a good reason, we'd be in for a heap of trouble. If the European Union stayed out of it, we'd be screwed at that point.

Of course this is unlikely to happen, seeing as we are all to economically intertwined at this point in history to go to war with one another. Thats whats kept the peace since the cold war, the world economy.

The only thing that would disrupt things at this point, would be a nuclear attack on a major US city, namely Washington. A terrorist could get close enough during a normal working day with a bomb in the back of a truck, and destroy our government.

When you hear people saying "red state" "blue state" you could be looking at a civil war at that point. We are only United by our government at this point, and states leaders would be clamouring for power, which could lead to State on State armed conflict to seize power. At that point, Europe, China, and Russia would probably step in to try and maintain some resemblence of order, but how long would we see them as helping, and would we fight to keep them out?

These are the real problems we face. Of course our current wars don't help this threat in the least. Increased screenings at seaports, and careful documentation of nuclear facilities and stockpiles is whats needed to prevent that threat. Of course, nothing is perfect.
