Money was better spent on politically connected military suppliers and mercenaries.
The "village idiot" was in power for 44 years? Come on now, get real.

GregW, one more time.

GWB was not born and raised in a village.

I coined the phrase the village idiot to one Barrack Hussein Obama because he was born and raised in a village and is a total idiot.

Now, for your info one more time.

Clinton was the one who took the money away from the levies and misused it elswhere.

The NO idiot Mayor and Governor were told weeks in advance this was coming to be prepared and of course they did not.

The killer Mayor wanted to be a hero and it turned out that he was responsible for all those deaths.

Bush was NOT responsible for the nuts who stayed back when they were ordered to leave NO. It is your liberal idiot mayor responsibility to protect his citizens and he did not.

You are so confused and still pointing fingers. Get over it.

The proof is that your liberal mayor and your liberal governor failed their people. Every single person had time and resources to be removed from NO days in advance but the pig mayor wanted to be a hero and save the day. Well, he should be in jail for what he did.

Money, kinda like Obama is doing with stimulus money? Sending it to liberal areas and not to conservative areas? Is that what you mean?
How about buying congress members votes on HC with my stimulus money?

Get over it, your pig mayor of NO killed these people and should be the one on trial.

Besides they were criminals to begin with, they were ORDERED to leave and did not.

Obama is the real VILLAGE IDIOT.

Clinton stole money from the army corp when he was in office.

Katrina was caused by Clinton not spending the money correctly and the idiot mayor and governor ( both liberals of course ) not doing their jobs and following protocol.

Jeb Bush had several disasters, Haley Barbour also, but did you see this stuff happening? NO, you did not.

Arnold has had several disasters like this also, did you see all this happening?
NO.

Proof is liberals cannot run a popcorn stand without burning the popcorn and going bankrupt.

Oddly, books were written about how FEMA's performance during the four Florida hurricanes of 2004 had helped Bush carry that key state in the Presidential election just six weeks later. But by 2005, FEMA had forgotten it all. It was as if they simply weren't paying attention...
You're so lost in unreality it is amusing. You need to comb over your facts more carefully. You are way off base here.

So when does the state, county and city government take responsiblity for the safety and welfare of the people???

It was the US Army Corps of Engineers that told the state the levees were weak, and were lucky if they could handle a CAT 3 hurricane. And it was the state, county and local government that did not see the safety of their citizens as a priority. Their US house representatives brought back hundreds of millions of dollars in pork, for tourist attractions, museums and restaurants, but nothing for building the levees.

The Katrina disaster was the result of a complete failure of state and local government, not the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Good of you to be so specific in your complaints. Very logical and well-documented.

Maybe read a little more history. Flood control throughout the Mississippi Valley has been a federal responsibility since 1879. State and local governments get to talk. Action is in the hands of the feds.

not quite

Orleans Levee District Board of Commissioners is the ones responsible for operating, inspecting, maintaining and making emergency repairs to the levees that protect the city.

interview with James P. Huey, former president of the Orleans Levee District Board of Commissioners.

CongressWoman Susan Collins asked Huey about whether the Orleans Levee Board was required to inspect its levees.

"Mr. Huey, is it accurate that the first time you became aware of the federal regulation requiring inspections of the levees at least once every 90 days was when our committee staff read that regulation to you?" asked Collins.

"Yes, ma'am," Huey responded.

Collins criticized the Orleans Levee Board, saying it devoted time to managing properties -- including two marinas and an airport -- and managing a license for a floating casino instead of focusing on its core mission.

Huey said the businesses helped him turn the board's $6 million deficit into a $21 million surplus. He was forced to operate the businesses because the state legislature cut the levee district's tax revenues in half, he said.

so just whom has the action,,,sagi????
