On another forum I belong to, a member posted a couple of years ago about how her family was selling out and leaving the area where they had lived for several years because the Katrina refugees wouldn't go back home. Their once-peaceful area had turned into a nightmare and they could no longer tolerate living there.
I tried to open the first couple of links, but they didn't work. I don't care about people suing, but suing the gov means they are suing the people. Of course, this means it is our debt and that doesn't sit well with me like most things gov related.

What's the difference? We were paying for these people before Katrina and will continue to take care of them til they die. Then the cycle starts over for their offspring.

Yea, I know. I don't know how to feel. On the one hand, my heart goes out to those in need. OTOH, I'm struggling so my family can survive. I'm all for my tax dollars going towards education and/or vocational training to combat disparity. Law suits? Not so much.

Funny, if any person can collect on funds for being in NO during Katrina then they need to arrest their sorry butts for trespassing when they were ORDERED to leave in the first place.
Anyone who stayed has no excuses. They had days to get out and access to ways to get out and did not use them.

Tresspassing? Didn't you just say in another thread, "If I were the defense [lawyer]?"
I think you better get crackin' on those law books.
